Highline Apps

Below are links to information, guides, and tutorials on some of Highline's most commonly used applications and platforms. In order to be successful in your courses, you will need to comfortable with each of these. Click on a link to see information, and remember that you can always connect with a tech tutor if you have any questions or need help!

Canvas

Canvas is the online learning platform that is utilized by nearly every class at Highline College.

ctcLink

ctcLink is a platform used by colleges across the state of Washington, where students go to manage the "business" side of their education - register for classes, pay tuition/fees, update personal information, etc.

Google Drive

Your Highline student account also includes access to Google Drive. Google Drive is an online storage platform which allows you to access and share your documents from any device.

Google Docs

In addition to Google Email and Google Drive, you Highline account gives access to Google Docs. Google Docs in an online word processor (like Microsoft Word) that automatically saves to your Google Drive, where you can then download or share it.

Highline Email

Highline's student email system is powered by Google. By default, your student email is used as your primary email address for communication from Highline - make sure to check it regularly!

Microsoft Office

Highline College encourages students to use the free Google apps you have access to with your Highline account. However, all students also have access to Microsoft Office - including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

MyHighline

Your myHighline username (sometimes also called your "Highline username" or "Canvas username") will be used to access everything from Canvas to Google to Zoom.

Okta

Highline uses Okta for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) as extra security for student accounts. Many applications will require you to login through Okta in order to access them. Students can also access many apps and services by logging directly in to their Okta dashboard.

Watermark

Watermark Student Success and Engagement (formerly known as Aviso) is how students can interact with staff and faculty for advising, planning courses schedules, and other services such as financial aid.

Zoom

Zoom is a video conferencing application frequently used for online class meetings/lectures as well as instructor office hours. Highline students can login to Zoom using your myHighline account through Single Sign-On (SSO).
